The mission of Carla's Champions is to create a legacy of hope and action for Carla Maureen (Caputo) Modderno by helping to eliminate cancer through:
- fundraising for cancer treatment, education and research;
- educating the public on issues faced by blood cancer patients and their families; and
- providing assistance to pediatric cancer patients and cancer patients with minor children and their families.

The Carla's Champions logo was designed by Jeffrey Modderno. Green is both Carla's favorite color and the color of Leukemia support ribbons. The star design represents hope for a future without cancer. | |
The Carla's Champions logo ties together several different ideas.
Carla's Champions began as a collection of teams participating in cancer fundraising walks throughout the United States. One of the inaugural Carla's Champions team captains introduced the concept of "a legacy of love" as her team's theme for the evening.
Subsequently, the Carla's Champions goal "conquering leukemia," which was broadenned to cancer as our board determined that we are in a unique position to serve families dealing with a wide variety of cancers that impact parents and children, was added to define the direction for Carla's legacy.
Action unifies the Carla's Champion goal of conquering cancer with its legacy of love and illustrates that we cannot beat this family of diseases or address the concerns of those currently dealing with them in a passive manner. |
